I have 2 oce 9800 machines and on both machines when scan print or scan to file you will get a light streak on documents with thin lines. It is in the same place on both machines 12" in from the left on a 36" origanal and about 1" wide. It looks like it is from the middle cd unit.

I have replaced the lamp cleaned the white roller and pulled the scan head on one machine with no luck.

Oce says to replace the scan head but at over $18,000.00 each I wanted to see if anyone has any ideas.

HELP!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!

I have fixed this issue by using a compressor and a small point nozzle and blowing air into the ccd area. What you want to do is to push the offending spec of dust off of the ccd from the center out towards the ends. It will take a few tries but you should be able to move it.
You need a compreesor. Canned air is not powerful enough.

I would agree with the Doc, get some air in there and blow it all out.
When you replaced the lamp you pulled the glass and cleaned both sides, right?
