JUST WANTED TO INFORM EVERYONE THE BOYS AT KMART HAVE DONE IT AGAIN!!!! IF YOU HAVE A KONICA MINOLTA DEALER IN YOUR AREA THEY NOW HAVE ACCESS TO THE COMPLETE KIP LINE AND YOU CAN DO NOTHING ABOUT IT! WE HAVE WORKED A FEW DEALS FOR QUITE SOME TIME AND LOST THEM DUE TO KONICA MINOLTA TRYING TO MOVE THERE PRODUCTS AND DROPING THEIR PANTS AND SELLING THE KIP BOX WITH THEIR PRODUCTS AT COST WITCH IS ONLY $500.00 MORE THAN DEALER PRICING. WE DID KNOW THEY HAD ACCESS TO THE PRODUCT LINE AND COULD SELL AS A ENGINEERING SOLUTION WITH THE PS7000 SCANNER BUT WE DIDNT THINK WE HAD TO FEAR COMPETION WITH THEM WHEN SELLING WALK UP COPIERS!!!! ANYWAY IF YOU HAVE A KONICA MINOLTA DEALER IN YOUR AREA IT SEEMS THEY TOO WILL BE SELLING THE KIP PRODUCTS WITH NO RESPECT FROM THEM OR KIP TO REIMBURSE THE LONG TIME DEALER / SERVICE PROVIDER TO THAT AREA. At first, we too were less than thrilled with the advent of K-M, but then a couple of things happened.

1. They actually started to place units. Orphans galore! Do not gouge repentant customers. Show them mercy and let them save face as they come looking for the level of service and expertise that only a dedicated wide-format company can offer. We are profiting whilst K-M does the work.

2. Xerox buys Global Imaging Systems, which provided a fairly large share of K-M distribution. How long before XES gets their hands on that customer base? Both KIP and Ricoh will lose distribution and their service will suffer under the corporate weight and cost cutting soon to follow given the high price paid for GISX by XRX.

3. Dedicated dealers take heart. The long-term belongs to us. Make your companies lean and mean, without compromising service, because in the end, it is all we really have to sell.
