Popcorn popping sound coming from Fuser section, when rotating. I can't see anything broken or out of round. Anyone experience this before?

Try greasing all gears on both sides.

Always buttered. Never any strange flavors, just butter and salt.

I've had the bearings and/or the plastic bushings between the bearing and the rollers cause that problem.

I ended up loosening and then readjusting the tension of the drive belt and then cleaning off some gunk that was on the teeth of the gears - wasn't confident that this would solve the issue but it stopped making popcorn.

Oce TDS 800's are prone to that sort of buildup on toothed pulleys. Didn't think to mention it, CRS.

This is a KIP860 but I'm guessing you're just referencing the OCE TDS 800... Laughing

I only have one 7170 that does that. Only way I've been able to stop it is
pack the fuser gears like a wheel bearing in grease. Wink
