I have a 7170 that I keep having to go back every couple of weeks to clean the print head. Is there something I can do to keep it from getting toner on it? Maybe a seal that's breaking down and letting toner get on the lens? BTW, it's not in the same spot every time. |

In my experience, the 7100 family runs dirty. The left end of the printhead seems to be the worst. You could lower the BIAS 3 setting. _________________ Regards,

Have you checked out Kip Tech Tip K134-004?
I agree with Mark . That said I don't have near the problems with dirty led's since making sure I have good continuity on the copper strips. |

Thanx Arlen, I completely forgot about 134-006. Think I'll pay more attention to the grounds. _________________ Regards,
