I have a new install that the IPS keeps losing the static address assigned. Connecting to laptop with crossover cable and can ping right off. After 5,10,15 mins. comm. is lost. Address area on UI screen is jumbled(j23833 l/;'. lzp19)etc. Same thing happens when in VNC. Tried in demo printer and could not repeat problem. The problem printers# is before the latest KIP TB on this matter. KIP tells us to order new IPS and return problem child but I dont think this will fix. Would enjoy any input on this. THANKS,G |

Kip issued a Tech Bulletin last week.
Bulletin Number TB-K105-018
KIP 3000 Printer serial numbers beginning with 10503089 and higher may not retain a staticlly assigned IP address through the touchscreen interface. In order to resolve this issue, please perform the following steps:
. . . .
From the controller desktop:
Double click "diagnostics' folder,
Go to Network Connections,
Right-click 'Local Area Connection 3' and select 'rename',
Change the number '3' to number '2'.,
Double click 'Restart KIP 3000',
Set IP address as necessary in the GUI as normally performed. |

A new IPS would most likely fix it. If they are willing to RMA it, they may have one of those "issues" they don't admit untill they have a fix for.
You also may as well try doing the steps in the TB, maybe they have the serial cut off wrong.
