|
|
Hello everyone.
First time posting an inquiry but have received great and helpful tips for many years.
We have a KIP 8000 that won't print properly. When we send a print job, it does the following intermittenly:
- it keeps on doing the -C- corona wire cleaning
- prints blanks
- prints long sheets
- goes offline
It also displays this error message - https://imgur.com/a/7nzhOGV
The owner of the business is a also KIP technician, but is also stumped at the issue the machine is
showing. So far he has done the following to no avail.
-swapped the DC controller
-changed the thermostat
-change the end blocks (transfer separation)
Hoping to get some advice on what else we can do to fix the machine.
Appreciate your help. Thank you
Neil

Have you tried re-ghosting the controller? |

I swapped the original embedded controller with a spare one
(imaged from the original embedded controller) and applied the MEPatch.
The unattend version is 6.5.568 ( should I go with 6.5.492 ).
I then updated the KIP Print Request to Rev: 6.5.23 running on a Windows 7 PC. It appears to be stable ATM.
This seems to fixed all the above mentioned problems on the 8000. The only issue now is that it doesn't finish a whole roll on drawer 1 and 2. My technician will be coming in tomorrow to replace the clutch and sensor. Hopefully this will fix any other issues we have on this machine.
Just want to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone for their inputs. Especially James and Steve. This forum is a gem and would look forward to sharing and helping others, just like how it helped us. |

The 8000 is printing fine now, except for the paper drawer issue not finishing a roll.
The embedded controller unattend version is 6.5.568, should I go with 6.5.492? |

Roll not finishing try swapping the roll spool from another deck.or tighten or replace the spool brake. |

If .568 is stable at the moment, I wouldn't go to .492.
As for the roll issue, as CHILLIN stated, swap the spindles with one out of 3/4. This will let you know if it's the spindle causing the issue or the drawer itself. |

What in the drawer causes the roll to kickout before finishing.. I have 2 8000s that do this and new brakes and spindles dont help. |
