Hey guys. I have a 7170 with only 40K SF on it. For some reason, it has started doing random quarter size or 1" and 2" squiggly voids on prints. No steady void pattern, no repeat of lost image down the print. When I run the 36x60 print, the void randomly happens around 8", 12", 26", 38", 42" or 48" from LE. Some prints have only 1 or 2 while others may have 5 or 6. They are random and can be on left center or right side. Sometimes a couple side by side, 3" or 4" apart.

This customer runs 99% 24x36, so it isn't the "long print voids" with the fuser speed, even though I did adjust speeds to see if it would change anything and it did not.

I replaced the transfer corona and selected Transfer Support, no luck. I don't think it could be the drum. Not sure if it could be the paper as I tried different rolls, no difference.

Am I going to have to replace the drum/transfer seperation unit?

Did you take a look at the fuser NIP? The spring loaded baffle in front of the TS?

NIP is good. Baffle is as it should be. I believe the problem lays somewhere in the drum/ T/S assy area. We just unpacked a new 7170K, might just go swap t/s assy, to eliminate that possibility.

We had a 7100 doing this with a customer that runs very long prints 10 feet plus. The machine was not level. Lowered the feet and leveled the machine, prints good long prints now.
