I have a Kip 7900 that is elongating a small part of the image around 6 inches from the trail edge. It does not matter what size is printed or from what drawer you print. The entire width of the print is blurred and stretched.

We took out the cutter unit and cleaned and lubricated it. We have also replaced the cutter motor.

If you run a cut sheet the defect does not occur.

Here is a link to an example picture: http://www.rivermontmusic.org/kip7900.jpg

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Check fuser speed - slow it down. When the paper goes thru the machine, it is tight because there is the fuser pulling the paper and the paper drawer holding the paper, as soon as the cutter cuts the paper, the "hold back" pressure is released and the fuser has a sudden increase in speed causing the paper to lunge forward, causing the stretch/blurr.

Check the paper feed motor speed too. You might have to adjust that a bit. Basically, you'd want the motors that push and pull the paper to be in synch with one another.

I've seen this before, but on a 9000. Hope this helps.
