Replaced the aluminum output roller, when trying to start machine it ticktocks a few seconds til about the time the motors would kick in then stops. Screen indicates CTF cover open. If I just open the cover an inch and reset in onto the sensor on the NCTS it starts back up only to fail again in a few seconds. I have cheated it so I know the switch is not actually releasing.
I tried manually turning the rollers a half dozen pulls then it did run correct for a few minutes before the same failure.
Do I need to replace the NCTS ASSY? |

I don't have 860 docs, many of the fault codes are similar to the 9800. If it isn't showing a fault code (numbers) I could only take a WAG. It could be..
A sticky O-Ring on the NCTS probe
A bad one way clutch on the exit roll sensor (slotted wheel) _________________ Regards,

sorry the error code is 25721, must be different from 9800 manual as on the 9800 it refers to the scanner. |

Turns out it was the sensor a few inches to the right of the slotted wheel on the CTF cover. |

The error code means this:
25721 Warm up: paper path CTF/RRDs/PSF not free
1) Check the output sensor CTFOUTSE
2) Check the paper roller drawers synchronisation sensor PRDSSYNSE
3) Check the synchronisation sensor PSFSYNSE
4) Check the paper path for mechanical failure
5) If the input signal is continuously ON:
Bad contact between Sensor > PBA, CPU-IO
Sensor defect (CTFOUTSE, PRDSSYNSE, PSFSYNSE)
PBA, CPU-IO defect _________________ "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten." - Benjamin Franklin and John Ruskin |
