|
|
I got a call from my customer this morning that they were getting a vertical magenta line from leading edge to trailing edge. I updated the software on the ips to 1.3 that I had gotten from Kip to resolve a different problem to no effect. Has anyone else seen anything like this? |

No, but it should be easy to see what is causing it by pulling out the magenta drum unit. Most likely something on the charge unit or drum.

This is most likely the case.
I had the same issue recently with magenta as well.
Had to reseat the wiper blade off the transfer belt, corrected the issue. While you have the wiper blade out, dust the blade and belt with toner to give it some lubrication, i've noticed out of factory sometimes there isnt enough toner to properly lubricate that wiper blade. _________________ KIP 3000/3100,5000,6000,8000,7700, 7770, 7100/7170, Color 800

So after spending hours at my customer's location, and after talking with Kip I was finally able to pinpoint the problem. In the center of the magenta LED head one pixel is out. |

Ouch so the print head is the culprit. I sure hope that Kip replaces that under warranty?? One tiny pixel? That sucks...
