Does anyone know if the main scanner board is tied to a serial number like the newer units? I'm taking a 3K in on trade and was hoping to swap the board into another client's machine.

Did you ever get the answer to your question? I'm pretty sure that the older scanners, 3k and 3.1k, are just plug and play but I'm not positive.

I recently had a 3100 scanner board go bad at a customer's office. We had an old machine that I just took it from and replaced it so as far as I know it worked fine. You'll probably have to run shading sheet through after replacing.
