I have a 7100 in the field that seems to be acting funny. Scans/Copies, you can see the 3 blocks on the 36 image and both the left and right side blocks are way darker than the center. I think this can be cured with a white balance. (Customer didn't know what happened to their calibration sheet).

But secondly, when you try to scan at 200 dpi, it's very slow and I noticed that as the paper is being scanned, the entire scanner has a very loud mechanized sound

I'm going to be getting back a used 7100 and wondering if I could just swap out the entire scanner.

Other than swap the scanners I would think the only thing you may have to do is get a new Color KeyCode from KIP.
