Has anyone ever seen a drum get a ding but nothing lines up with where the ding occurred? I replace and the machine runs fine for some time and then a ding appears. There was no jam and the customer didn't yank the print out. If I leave the drum inside the machine I get more dings in the exact same area on the drum. Again, nothing lines up with where the ding occurred. Any ideas?

Sure there isn't something floating around in the developer? or stuck to the developer?

| Was thinking the same thing. Maybe something stuck on the dev. roller or T/S assy, Charge assy or LED. I would take a close look at these parts and try to line up the ding with each part and try to make some sense of it. |

| I've also seen the adhesive from the white labels holding the new paper rolls tight transfer to the drum, get sticky with toner and then at some point stick back to the paper as it goes through the machine and pull some drum coating with it. That adhesive can get on the developer roller, the cleaning roller and create a nightmare if customers don't cut the first loop of the rolls off when installing new paper. The only other thing I can think of if it isn't a mechanical issue with something contacting the drum is if you are possibly getting a corona arc that blows a hole in the drum? |

| I had a customer that scratched the drum with her ring when she reached in to remove a jam. |
