Recently HP announced the lineup of the PageWide XL printers, first model releasing this fall is the XL 8000 - rated at 30 D/min

I went to the dealer event last summer where they unveiled a prototype, running some maps on bond, that were printing about as fast as you could imagine.

Single stationary printbar 40" (8 printheads x 5" ea); 775ml CYMK with dual supply (change inks while printing)

There will be 4 printer models at 8 D, 12 D, 14 D and the 30 D. All but the 8000 will have an MFP option for SD or HD scanner.

Controller i7 w/16GB DDR; SSD boot drive and 500GB SATA; 8" touch-screen. Optional PS.

Stacking and folder options.

Limited reseller authorization. Would be interested to hear who is onboard, as well as potential service issues when a printhead goes out and how op cost compares to BW LED, C7800 and CW500.
