This is a good one we’ve been working on over a month now and finally figured out. KIP 8000 with intermittent power drop off issue. I found several similar issues like this here in the forum. About half the time the machine will come ready and print a few jobs before the power would chatter on & off. 3 of the 4 relays in back will chatter thus restarting the machine over and over. We’ve run into this before where it is usually a bad door switch or connection. We replaced all the switches including the toner and paper drawers, problem still persisted. Tried to swap out every one of the DC power supplies. The main problem that extended this service call was that sometimes it would work after replacing some part but start chattering again in a day or so. Finally today we started tracking down wire connections and look for any open or short. While checking the 220 volt wires in the fuser I noticed the Thermostat had worn down the fuser roller which caused the thermostat copper leaf springs to bend over which flipped the thermostat upside down. This created an intermittent short to the fuser roller. It didn’t blow any fuses or the breaker, just the relay chatter. This is one for the books!
