I have a 7900 that will randomly stop in mid-print and tell me I have a jam in the exit, because that is where the paper stops Here's my scenario:

If I'm running 24x36 prints, it'll print just fine then it'll jam. When it jams, it's sticking about 8 inches out of the exit with no obstructions. What I notice is that the image on the LE was cut off about an inch, more like the image was skootched up past the LE, BUT when I pull the paper, the paper is already cut and is the correct size of 24x36. There is a light image about 9" down from the LE of the image that should've been the LE image. So what it looks like is that the paper seems to be delayed reaching the drum. LE and TE are straight cuts, so I don't think it's the cutter. Could it be paper feed motor? The paper doesn't actually "crash" into any obstructions, it just looks like it stops inside the machine. It is very random, it can happen after 5 sheets or not happen for another 50 sheets. Any ideas?

You could try to blow off or replace the registration clutch/paper gate clutch located right near the T&S assy on the left side. I know that sometimes this will get toner on it if the developer sides seals leak and can cause an issue like this.

Maybe also blow out the paper feed clutches and check the coupling on the cutter and cutter motor to make sure they're not loose, but that should give you an E-07 error if they are over rotating.

The only other time I saw an issue like this was when the pulse disk on the cutter was on 180 degrees off, but that would do it every cut.

I replaced the two clutches on the left side and the brake on the right side. Ran a bunch of prints and no jam. I hope that this took care of it. I would hate to have to change the clutch on the other end of the brake, as it looks like I'd have to remove a lot of inside covers to take that shaft out in order to replace that clutch. I will keep you updated.
