For our new office, we got a KIP 7970 with a KIP 720 Scanner attached. Overall, it's working well, the problem is that the KIP 720 scanner keeps turning itself off and I don't know how to prevent this from happening. Does anyone have any ideas?

6 Sleep Time
BUD No.6 is a timer setting for the scanner to run sleep mode. (Auto Power OFF)
The period of inactivity can be specified. The setting value “0” means Auto Power OFF disabled.
setting range step of increment
0 to 60 1 minute

Ok, that makes sense, except can you make it clearer where I set this? I don't quite understand what BU No.6 means.

BUD=Back up data

You'll need to connect to the scanner with the scanner utility and change the value there and send the new value to the scanner. You'll need a computer or laptop with a serial port (or a usb to serial adapter) and a crossover cable.

I think the OP is a customer and not the service provider... he should really have a tech perform the procedure if he is unsure since you can goof a lot of things up while in that utility if i remember right...
but then again he has 220 posts so is this a demo machine for a showroom at a dealer or is it a place with in house service? Looks like hes more than capable...

LoL disregard my comments I guess...
