I had a controller crash on this model, after reinstalling the IPS from the disk taped to it, it only shows me tray 1. It knows tray 2 is there. The screen says kip 7900. I went through all the settings, they all seem to match. Serial # is in. All the Key codes installed.
What am I Missing? |

I don't have any of these models to know for sure if it is similar to the older models where in service mode you can choose how many rolls the machine is. |

One roll is showing, or one drawer, consisting of two rolls is showing?
Within Service Mode, you can set how many rolls are available from 2 to 4. |

1 Drawer is working, drawer 1. Second drawer doesn't show up on the screen. If you pull the second drawer out, it acts like your replacing paper in drawer 1. Have the service setting on 4 rolls. |

This is how this all started. Machine wouldn't go to the IPS op screen. Tried reloading IPS from the internal backup, but it would do the same thing, saying a windows file was missing. Removed the controller and loaded the backup disk that was taped to the controller. Everything seem to work normally. When I put it back in the machine, loaded ser. # and all key codes for the machine. Machine came up normally, except it won't show drawer #2. If you pull drawer 2 it acts like you pulled drawer 1, same if you pull drawer 1. Service code was set for 4 rolls, have it set for 2 rolls right now so the customer doesn't pull the wrong drawer. The only other thing i saw was when you get out of service, the log in/out shows kip3100 admin, not sure if that's normal. |

It sounds like after you ran the ghost, when the configuration screen came up, the 7900 wasn't selected. You can always run the configuration again from the "diagnostic" folder. _________________ Regards,

Key points here....you did this while the controller was REMOVED from the machine. That is the issue. When you reghosted the controller OUTSIDE of the printer, the software (Unattend) started and didn't find a printer attached; it defaulted to a 3100 (this is normal).
You then put the controller back into the printer, and it started to print fine.
Well, for some reason, it didn't switch to a 7900. I am not sure why, but all you should have to do is to hit the "Factory Restore" button and you should be all set. You will have to put in your key codes and IP address again, but that is not a big deal. |

Remember....3000/3100 was the first KIP printer with a touchscreen and an IPS. It's what it knew first. |
