Good-morning everyone,

I'm having an issue here with our plotter and would love some assistance because we're also trying to print out some vital pages.

I'm getting this error 'E-031-E-034 Cycle Power' and have tried cleaning the machine and also disconnecting it but still no solution. Once the plotter begins to attempt to print again, the error pops up again and the page gets jammed.

If someone could please help out and recommend something based on past experiences.

Completely clean the T/S and charge units. If it were me I'd do the wires and springs also if it's been a while. Look at the HV leads, if you see white spots cut the tie wraps and spread the leads apart.

If Mark's suggestion doesn't help (which is usually the issue) you can pull the HV leads off the board one at a time until the error stops and that will tell you what circuit is faulty.

Is there a detailed post on how to clean the T/S and Charge Units? I have a KIP 3000 with the exact same error code and jammed paper symptoms.

I'm not a tech...is this something that can be performed by a mechanically inclined person that isn't a printer tech?

Thanks in advance.

There are several different causes for this particular problem. Below are some threads describing some of them.

Honestly for this problem I would recommend getting a tech on site as more often than not it requires more than just a cleaning. High voltage shorting can be both tricky and dangerous to troubleshoot.

All the best,

Jeff
