We installed a new 3000 today w/6.2 IPS upgrade, etc. During the customer training, there were 3 random occurrences of this error:

"Process Unit Error E-070
Open and close process unit"

The messages occurred while the 3000 was mostly idle. What I mean by that is we had recently run a print, copy or scan and were then discussing how these functions work with the customer. This is before ever showing them how to open the clamshell.

I didn't have our tech there during the training. Should I have him go back in and inspect the innards?

I would have your tech check how level the floor is. I had a 3000 install where the floor had a low spot under one wheel and was tweaking the bottom frame of the machine enough that the top wasn't closing quite right and kept giving me u-070 errors.

I've seen the E-070 error before.

Have your tech check the toner cover switches, located on the left and right side of the chassis when the toner cover is open. If these switches were not installed correctly when the unit was assembled, they could give this error message. The tech would have to remove the side covers to make the adjustment.

Having installed over 30 units, the probability that a unit has something misaligned is about 80%. Twisted Evil

I've seen this on a brand new 3000 right out of the box on a preinstall. I took some mylar and shimmed the interlock switch so that the switch would be closer to the actuator or shimmed the actuator to be closer to the switch. I can't remember which it was. Fixed my problem.
