Well, despite the KipWatch on these new 6.0 controllers I've still had calls regarding Bad Files in the queue.
With the 3000 out there we have more and more customers who have never even heard of VNC and trying to explain how to manually remove a bad job over the phone takes forever.
I've created a PowerPrint Purge for the Kip 3000.
Pushing this EXE to your Kip 3000 will put your machine in Update Mode, close the 3000 interface and Unattend. The installer will then automaticlly start on the 3000. Use the touch screen to complete install and then Double Click the Powerprint Purge icon on the touch screen.
If the customer wishes to activate the Purge Utility at a later date they can... Click the "?" button. Enter the Service Menu and then exit right way. Then (with service wrench still in top right corner of screen) press the RESET button to close the 3000 interface. Then Double Click the Powerprint Purge icon.

Click the "EBS Tools for Kip Techs" link
ps... you can rename any EXE file to start with the letters "KIPUPDATE" and when you push it to a 6.x controller kipwatch will automaticlly close the Kip software and start the installer for you. |

Neil,
What the Doc said!!!!!
BTW, you can exit the 3000 interface by pressing the "?", then the Kip logo (or whatever logo you put there) twice, then start once, then cancel once.

I modified the Purge Utility so that it will copy the "Request" dir into the PROBLEM folder before clearing it from monpath1. This will allow you to get the bad files with the "get problem files" function in request. To pinpoint which job ticket was the BAD file look for a file called "current.kip" within the job ticket folder.
Also, the installer will automaticlly run the Purge Utility when it's done installing. So be careful. Don't push the installer unless you're sure you want to Purge the queue.
This new installer only requires you to press Next twice to install. This means that if someone with a 3000 gets stuck they simply "push" the installer to the 3000, walk over to the touch screen, click Next, Next and they're back up and running.
