Hi guys,

Having a bit of trouble with my KIP2050 currently. A fault has developed over night with the scanner, the scanner is showing shading on the far left side with a width no more than an A3 sheet of paper. I've cleaned everything out and also replaced the RAM just in case but no luck.

I've done the diagnostics and everything appears fine but when I scan anything I just get the lines, I will upload a photo to help. Basically it looks like a grid with the dots measuring a couple of DPI apart if that helps!?

I don't want to get a callout just yet as a guy wants to charge £80 just to come over my house to look at the scanner without the diagnosis etc!

Thanks, Robin

The next thing I would try is taking the top cover off and reseat all connections on all the circuit boards.

Are you getting any errors at boot up?

Did this problem start after a power failure or thunderstorm?

hi cjwilt ,
if you mean the plugs on the boards, I have tried that.
or do you mean the bridge blocks on the circuit boards,
I did not know how to get them out Question
can you tell me how the battery come out of the board Question
if I take the battery out and refit it may reset itself Question
what do you think Question
the scanner was ok till my pc went down, so I tried to load it
onto windows 7 did not work, as it will not on windows.
so changed it to xp, and that's when I got the problem.

I wouldn't remove the battery so it might be best to leave that alone.

The boards have to have the screws removed that hold them in to get them apart. But the problem might be in the software since that's when the problem started.

What drivers did you install before installing the software?

What version of software are you using?

Can you post a copy of the INI file so I can look at it?
