We are on our 3rd drum with this same problem. We get an orange peel effect in the center of the drum. The ends look brand new, but the middle 24' or so, is orange peeled all the way around. The drum surface is damage and it will not clean off. Any ideas on how to fix this?

The image quality issues show up on half size prints more than full size. Especially if there are shaded areas on the drawings. My Konica service tech said that Konica has had the problem on their wide formats and they were investigating it. Maybe we will have a solution soon.

We can remove this orange peel for you. We have a new process that cleans these drums like brand new.

Send them to us and we will do them and send them back quickly.
Email me for more info.

If it's a set price, why not just share with us what the cost is...lol. No need for PMs, unless special pricing for different people.... Laughing

we are on investigation right now with some of our customers.

We've seen that the cleaning roller in not uniform between the center and the sides after a while.....maybe that cause the problem on the drum.

Since we don't change drum often in those machine, we don't even change the cleaning roller. But for our tests, we polish the drum AND change the cleaning roller and see in few weeks what happen.

We'll let you know

Sly, you may be on to something. The orange peel on the drum looks like the texture of the cleaning roll.
