I have a couple of "digital" drums (one KIP, one Xerox) that have very small, but deep, scratches/dings in the coating that cause grey/black marks on the prints from toner getting into the imperfection.

Has anyone come up with a way to repair this type of damage?

I have heard of putting a drop of nail polish on the ding but am worried about damage to the drum coating. There is also the issue of the resulting small void in the prints.

Thanks ahead of time for your help.

If you put nail polish on any spot on these drums, you will get a black spot exactly the size and shape of the nail polish blob. Remeber nail polish can not be charged, and on a digital machine no charge equals toner attraction. Bigger black spots.

If anyone comes up with a coating that can be charged they will be rich.
