Has anyone been able to use a 2050 SCSI scanner in VMWare or in XP Mode under Windows 7? We may have to replace our scan computer one day (just recovered the old/current PC from a crash this week), and I don't know if you can still get XP on a new PC. Our controllers run Unattend 6.0.36, which is why we're trying to stay under XP. _________________ --Krewe Maynard

I had the same problem in our office. I never got it to work and I messed with it for days. Ended up not upgrading to Windows 7 on the scan machine because of your very same reason. |

Were you using XP Mode? I tried VMWare, and it recognized the SCSI card. I just couldn't ever get it networked properly, which is crucial for our scan PC. _________________ --Krewe Maynard

I didn't try XP mode at that time. I never even thought about using VMWare when I was trying to find a workaround.
When you say networked properly, what's the issue you're having? Are you able to scan at all or are you having trouble scanning to a specific location? |

What were you using, VirtualBox? Haven't tried that for this project yet.
I was using XP in VMWare Player, the free edition, on a Vista host. I couldn't get bridged networking to work. I could use NAT to see the Internet, but I could never see my LAN. _________________ --Krewe Maynard
