Hello all.I'm hoping that some one out there has drivers and firmware for a 2050 scanner. We had a hard drive crash on a Windows 2000 machine and are trying to get back up and running on a XP machine and need drivers for the scanner. Thanks in advance if someone out there is able to help with this. |

there are not any "drivers" for the mono scanners. You need the SCSI card from the old PC and maybe update the ASPI. But Windows XP Pro should have the latest ASPI.
There is however KIP Scan 6 (and it loads copymaker) for the scan to file function. I have it and can email it along with the ASPI drivers and latest firmware for the scanner.
Just PM me. |

Here's what happened: The hard drive on our Windows 2000 PC died. The 2050 is a SCSI. I plugged the SCSI card into a Windows XP machine, and it installed the correct drivers. I also double checked the Adaptec site to make sure I had the latest and greatest driver...they have drivers for everything BUT Windows XP.
XP then prompted me to install a driver for a "Kip K-75 SCSI Scanner Device." I installed Kip Scan 6.0, but the K-75 still comes up in the Device Manager as needing a driver.
There's probably a simple step I'm missing. Thoughts?
PS: I'm cloning the old HD now. Hopefully that will get us up and running again. However, I'd like to have a backup PC in case something else happens, whether it's and XP box or XP in a virtual machine. _________________ --Krewe Maynard

Called Kip Support. They sent us software--which we already had--and, more importantly, INSTRUCTIONS--which I didn't have. The directions say to set the K-75 driver to some generic Agfa digital camera just to make the alert go away...it's not critical. Then installed the ASPI drivers, Scan, and Request. We're back up and running now! _________________ --Krewe Maynard
