| p84 FUSER MOTER ERROR, REBUILT FUSER, CHANGED MOTOR,GEAR BOX, MOTOR DRIVER AND MAIN PCB. Anyone know what signal wires to clip to take p84 out of loop? Or any other help would be great. |

This fix will take out the fuser motor error that show as an ef code on the cpu display. This can show as a p84 on the scanner.
The doctor has your fix. I just solved this myself the other day once and for all. I had one that was dogging me for the longest time. And it was three hours away. The machine can never go into ef if the code no longer exists. Simply tell the machine that ef is a not valid code. A little unothodox fix, but I knew there was no real problem there. Just a lazy motor maybe.
Simply pull the wire number two from the J21 connector (purple I think) on the fuser motor controller board and connect it directly to machine ground. Bingo, ef no longer exists. Trust me it works fine. I can even stop the motor by hand and not get an error.

There is a bulletin from KIP about the EF codes. I have recently had two seperate machines do this and replaceing the T/S unit fixed both of them. It has to do with the T/S unit acring and sending "feedback" to the main board. I know it sounds crazy but it did fix both of my machines.  |

Yes, by all means go with the bulletin first. But I did have at least two machines that had a very sensitive fuser motor and I had to trick it into running. The bulletin did nothing in those cases. Believe me, I wasted a lot of time trying to do it "by the book".

| Hey Kip Doc. In reference to the P-84 scanner code and the EF code on the main board. You said to pull out the number 2 wire from the J21 connector on the heater control board and attach it to machine ground to take the EF code out of the loop. Looking at the motor control board I find only plugs CNP1, 2, and 3. I think I know which one you are referring to but not sure. Could tell me which one it is. Thanks |
