I have a 800ps 42" that crashed. I have a HP recovery CD that reloads, and all works fine, but it is an old version and does not allow to scan to PDF.

I have another CD that came with the machine that is obviously a copy, but it is marked - Recovery CD, VER4.xxx Q1279-60029. It will load and the PDF option is there, but it installs a system password and I cannot re-set network connections etc to our network.

Any ideas if this a atill available upgrade or download? I looked on the HP site and do not see anything other than drivers.

I don't know if this is correct, but it's worth a shot.

This goes to HP's support for the cc800ps which is a scanner and an 800 printer.
You could also have an 815mfp, which is also an 800ps printer with a newer scanner.

I haven't seen a lot of these so I could be wrong.

You could also easily crack the administrator password. Just search google for it, you will be amazed at how easy it is. As long as you have physical access to a computer, the password is easy to change.

Thank for the link - I ordered the CD from there so I will let you know how it works.

Got the CD's, all loads well and so forth. I can log on as Administrator and set sharing, workgroup name, IP address, etc. But I cannot map a network drive. If I go to "CMD" prompt I can ping with no problem to any of the work stations that it needs to connect to.
