OK after two days and no response from the big "K" I was searching and found this forum.
I have a customer that is getting voids on the right side of the page. The voids get worse as more pages are printed. it has about 70k sqft on it and nothing has been done to this machine since the company they bought it from delivered it. When I first looked at it the image and transfer corona were black which was causeing alot of quality issues, I replaced both of these and most of the problems are gone.
Any suggestions would be really helpful.

Welcome to the world of cleaning/maint. on a 2k & 6k. Do a search on this site for "developer roller" and you will find procedures for cleaning the developer roller and toner supply roller, as well as much more useful info. _________________ "Learn how to work, Kid" - BTLS |

Yes, what you have described is the typical developer needing servicing issue that the big K says does not exist. It does. Time to dump all toner and chemical clean the dev roller and take a stiff brush to the supply roller, or maybe replace the supply roller.
It is a suck job, but it will work, for a while. You will have to do it again.
PS how did you find this site.
The big K says this site doesn't exist either. LOL! _________________ What we have gained in technology, we have lost in humanity. |

Thanks for the info. I found the developer roller informationa and did pull the dev apart and cleaned the dev roller and the supply roller. In the middle of the job a tech from 'K' called me finally and when I talked with him he said that I needed to clean the dev roller and described the process fairly closely to the information provided here. It is working fine now.
How often will I need to do this?
I found this site from a link on a newsgroup. I went back to find the link for you and the messages are gone. I am impressed with the info that I have found here.
Thanks |
