We have a 1050 3000 machine that is in a Kinko's. Only around 70,000 square ft on it.
About every 2 months they call with a problem. The prints come out light on one side. And, on that very same side the prints are "dirty".
No problem I say, pop off the gear, re-pressurize the Regulation roll, and the thing prints great again.
BUT why does this have to be re set every other month?
Machine is 4 hours away, naturally!

Any ideas?

Thanks

Given the abuse that machines take inside Kinko's (at least from what I see), I am suprised that you only need to go out every two months, have very few problems with our 3000, but we make sure we take care of it, blowing out bits and pieces of paper ocassionally, making sure that EVERYONE is trained on how to change paper and toner properly, etc.

I have seen this before on 30x42 prints, light or no image with a grey and or ghost image background towards the end of the print on the right side from lead to trail edge. I had swapped developers and was at wits end, when I found this post.

adjust the 1st fuser motor speed #436 from 21 to 15. This should work fine up to 8ft or so.

from this post http://www.kipforum.org/viewtopic.php?t=1434&highlight=light+one+side .... I worked for my KIP 3000

Well, I went on site and re-pressurized the dev-mod. All to no avail.
I got to looking around and the only thing I could surmise that was going on, was that the right side of the dev-mod was not getting "pushed" into the photoreceptor all the way.
I checked the cams, motor, ect. Everything seemed in order.
So I put a piece of shim stock on the spring plate on the dev-mod where the cam pushes on. It fixed it right up!
I don't want to leave it this way, but I don't see anything wrong with the front door or any part of the cam setup.....

Things that make you go HMMMMM
