I have a KIP 3000 with 85,xxx sq ft and have a light image in the center. I have read a lot of the posts regarding the light copy situation. I have replaced the charge corona wire, cleaned the grid screen, and un-bundled the wires going to the imaging unit. I didn't think that with only 85k square ft on the developer it should need servicing. Would like more suggestions on what I am missing. Is this a chronic problem on the 3000?
Thanks For Your help,
Alan

I would clean the developer roller and printhead. Printing a large amount of half size prints can cause this.

I cleaned the printhead, just wipe it off with a damp towel. Customer doesn't hardly, if ever run half size prints. I sell them the paper too and they only buy 36" rolls.

We have had dev units only last 85k.. Usually in low volume environments... did it take them 18 months to run 85k? There is a post on here somewhere detailing cleaning the supply roller.. we have gotten a lot more life out of dev units doing that instead of ordering the roller kits.

The bonding agents used to manufacture paper can come off and stick to the photoreceptor.

Pull the drum and examin the middle part. Can you see or feel a light coating? Just use 77% or 99% alcohol and a lint free shop towel to clean off the drum and it will run like new. Take your time and no scratchy drummy.

side note: it's kind of odd, But I had two 7000's that I've done this to very early on and have never had to do it again. I ended up getting excellent milage out of my drums.
