Just to vent a little.....
We are now up to 13 bad controllers, 4 in the last couple/few weeks. Their replacement process stinks, the controllers stink, the artificially low 'KIP service rates" stink.
I am afraid to look at my P&L on KIP service, I guess I'll have to though, at some point it has to be seriously looked at. Oh, never mind, I guess ya cant live without a Wal-Mart in every town. Maybe we can make it up on volume.

I currently have 4 controllers on the "defective" shelf waiting for RGA's from the mother ship. I continue to have this recurring nightmare about cheapa$$ motherboards frying. My girlfriend asked me to never mention it again and wonders what it has to do with my job anyways. For Christ sake, she thinks KIP is some guy that used to play football with a dorky, redheaded nephew (uh.....Do chickens have talons?).
My kids are wondering who that guy is that has less hair every time they see him.
And finally.....I keep wondering how so many freaking mobo's can possibly go bad and the manufacturer refuses to not only take the responsibility, but has the audacity of charging about $625.00 for a little $100 piece of crap.
P.S. If you dont get the Talon reference, ask your kids.....or rent Napoleon Dynamite, then for extra bonus points post an explanation that clearly defines the whole point of that film.

*SIGH*

Ok.....I know this didnt help, but I do feel much better.

Thanks for listening

Danno,

You should got to Alaska with your uncle to hunt wolverines with a friggin shotgun. It might help with the stress of replacing all those motherboards. We all feel your pain and can't seem to make a dollar when we have to keep buying expensive, cheap computers from KIP. (The company) You couldn't be more right about their process of returning for credit and all that. What a royal pain in the butt. It is just too bad that we can't use our RexQwonDo and "Break the wrist and walk away" from KIP.

As far as the purpose of Napoleon Dynamite. There is none but it sure makes you feel better about yourself. So when you get done from a hard day of replacing expensive junk motherboards, watch Napoleon Dynamite and hopefully it will easy the pain. If not, try the Alaska trip.

FYI: If you think the IPS units expensive, you should check out KIP's list price for an LCD panel $1,946.00. I have started to phase them out of my scope of coverage on my service agreements, and already looking for 3rd party vendors. I do not want to start eating that crap sandwich either. The upside on the LCD panels is, at the very least you do not need to get new key codes.
