Awhile back, one of my techs in my Las Vegas office was quizzing me about adjusting voltages in a 3000. I told him what I knew, and where to find the parts I didn't know. It seemed as though he was carefully weighing and pondering everything I was laying out, and when he started making the checks, he asked me with a very serious tone, "Now, does the machine need to be plugged in for this?" Just when I thought I had heard it all...

Unfortunately, he's also the manager of another location. He has few equals when it comes to repairing GPS or survey equipment, but I just console myself by thinking that he focuses on THAT and that the other thing was simply an intercranial flatus.
