|
|
We have a new Kip 3000 (6 months old) that has begun to print a blotchy band about 3" wide down the left side (facing the printer) of the prints. This seems like it would be a common problem but I couldn't find a solution in this forum.
Any idea where to start?
I don't have a service manual but would like to purchase one if anyone knows where they can be had.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've tried cleaning the image corona unit with canned air. I've also removed the photoconductive drum and thoroughly cleaned it. Neither worked.
Below is a link to a pdf of an actual printed document showing the issue if anyone's interested.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Could be the regulation roller not pressurized enough.
Remove the developer unit and look at the roller. You will probably see more toner on the left side than the right.
On the left side of the developing unit there is a gear on the black roller you can see. The gear above drives the regulation roller. This roller is spring loaded and tightened with a screw in the bearing holder.
Remove the gear, being careful not to lose the pin in the shaft. Loosen the screw in the bearing holder and apply a little downward pressure and tighten the screw.
How much pressure is a skill learned by trial and error.
