I have a kip 3000 that I would like to adjust the fuser speed on. But, when I go into service mode it is not available. It is greyed out in the service manual. But in reading some of the previous post you guys say that you adjust the speed. Any guidance would be appreciated. |

Being grayed out in the service manual means it is available but not recommended as a field adjusted item.
If you are looking to adjust fuser speed for 30" wide rolls and the adjustment is not there then you need to upgrade the firmware as follows;
serial number starts with 1050 EPROM version K105x08A
serial number starts with 1051 EPROM version K105x13B
I think the eprom version can be checked at the touchscreen. The "?" screen should have it.
I have used overall fuser speed (316 - 318) to fix voiding issues on 30", but an eprom upgrade is recommended.

Last week KIP released a TECH TIP regarding the fuser motor speeds.
TIP K105-009 30 inch - voids - Motor Speed
Should give you the info you need. |
