First of all best wishes for 2007 to all of you. This is my first appearance on this forum. I am an account manager in the Netherlands and I hope to get some feedback here to improve my sales figures!
In Holland KIP is not as well known as in the USA, those green monsters have app. 70% of the market.
Nevertheless, I wonder if anyone of you can sort things out for me.
When I make a copy of a ISO A0 there is a tolerance of 5 mm with the original. It seems that this is within the margins KIP requires. I am in competition with a RICOH 240W which tolerance is 2 %.
Do you have any suggestions how to get the proper result!
Thanx in advance !

The specified tolerance as far as scaling goes for any KIP digital plotter is .5% ( that is stated as one half of one percent) It is designed into the machine from the beginning by the engineers. If it is off more than that an adjustment may have to be made. Keep in mind that with bond paper copies you MUST let the print cool for ten minutes and then measure scale. The print will grow as it reabsorbs the moisture in the air. Don't believe it? You are not alone, I had to prove this to one of my classes once. We measured as it came out then actually watched it grow over the course of ten minutes. I had a lot of guys buy me beers that night.
PS if you are talking about cut length tolerance I seem to
remember +- 1.5mm. _________________ What we have gained in technology, we have lost in humanity. |
