Question on KIP 3100 color copy integration with the HP 4500, 2-roll color inkjet plotter.

Customer has these two systems and has 17” and 36” paper loaded on the HP.

When they make a 1:1 color copy from the KIP to the HP it goes to the 17” roll by default, even though the original is 36” wide.

I realize there is no setting in the UI that stipulates which roll to copy to. I would think the HP controller would pick the roll that best fits the size of the original.

The only other thing I know is that the customer has the 17” paper loaded on roll 1 of their HP and the 36” paper is roll 2. So it sounds like it goes to roll 1 no matter what.

I don’t have a 4500 at our office to test with.

Workaround is to either have them keep the 36" in roll 1 or if 17" is in roll 1, then to back it off when they make a 36" copy. But there must be a way to control it through software - either KIP or HP.

If you have deal with this issue before I would sure appreciate your feedback.

Thanks,
Paul

I just installed a 3100 and I couldn't get the HP to print out the complete target. Ended up having to change the paper settings in the HP menu. Could it be something similar?
