I hope someone from KIP Corp will read this. We just installed a 9000. The unit is great and fast and good image quality.
However. Something is wrong with how many prints are sent.

for example:
Repro will send through 6 orig - 9 sets (total 54)
What happens (at random) is the machine will print out 54 times 9.
What a huge waste of paper. This has happend about 3 or 4 times
in less than the week we've had it. We are now forced to baby-sit every
job.

Even if we do notice the problem, the job will not cancel via the touchscreen, or Queue View and nothing in the Monpath folders. Even re-booting the machine only helps partially as when it restarts, the machine still prints out 4 drawings before it finally cancels.

We are looking at ordering another 9000 as soon as we get one of our other units sold. If problems like this continue with the 9000, I will convince the owner to bite the bullet and go OCE and write off KIP as a very bad and expensive experience.
I've almost had it. The high failure rates of the KIP product is making me look bad as a technician.

Has anyone else run into this problem? How do we make KIP aware of this? Do you think they will actually react to a report of such issues?

First of all. If this is a NEW machine then you have a 90 day warranty. You should be in direct contact with the software guys at Kip America. They should be helping you whether you're a dealer or end user.

If you really have had it with the Kip software then don't use it. Simply use another printing software. There are a few that work very well.

PLP http://www.plp.com/www/index.html
MetaPrint http://www.metaprint.net/
ReproControl http://www.reprocontrol.net/en/home/

These programs do everything the Kip software will do AND they can cross platform. Meaning they can print to both Kip and Oce.

Don't give up on the Kip hardware just yet. It's still the best quality, fastest output and lowest cost.

Even if you spend 10k on software for your Kip 9000 it's still going to cost about half what a TDS800 with ReproDesk would be.

I was sent a patch 6.5.0.394 and the problem is fixed.
Must have been a known issue.
