Got one of the older 3000 color scanners. Everytime you try and make a copy it flashes a very quick memory reference error. After it flashes the error the scanner continues to feed the paper until the trail edge is just entering the scanner.

When trying to scan to mailbox I get this message:

Condition 6: Overflow

Condition Writing Scan to File Log, Errorplace=1420Last

Printing is working great. I have tried reghosting the controller and installing the new patch. I have also swapped main scan boards with a known working one. I am at a loss right now. I have been working with a Kip service manager but no luck yet.

EDIT: to the best of my knowledge this is the memory locations involved in the error. I ran about 40 sheets writing down 1-2 characters each time so I hope its right. Sad

Get to a command prompt and go to the D:

type in "chkdsk /f" click Enter.

agree to having check disk run on next reboot. Y

Then reboot the IPS.

The Log Directory is on the D: The D: is not reformated when you run the internal ghost image. I think your log dir is corrupt and check disk may fix it. However, if it doesn't you'll need to do a external ghost via CD rom drive.

When I reghosted the HDD I did it using an external cdrom drive. Would I still have to do the ckdsk?

Thanks for the help.
