Haven't I seen this before. Danka almost went under servicing Xerox and didn't Oce farm out service to Ikon and NCR? Now they are after more service? I wonder if they are going to servicing Kip as well?

They may be just misguided enough to try. The problem with companies like Oce, Xerox, and even KIP is that the people making deciscions are so far removed from the actual sales people and customers.

Big companies are full of MBA Gordon Gecko wannabe's who are out of touch with the street. It looks like a good idea on an excel spreadsheet, but the human element is largely ignored.

As for KIP, the level of tech support has declined substantially in recent months. The average experience level has dropped and the new mantra is "just buy more parts". These guys don't know anything about the older machines, which many people still have.

Note to KIP: Beware Ricoh. Big, smart, aggressive and with a bottomless checkbook they are coming for you, just like they came for Xerox.

Note to Oce: America is a strange place, you need some strange Americans to be running North America. Clean house, today!

Note to Xerox: Simplify your distribution and don't be so "Xerox".

Sorry for the rant.
