I have this problem where the printhead isn't filling with ink. I know it usually indicates the IDS system but everything tested out positive through the service utilities. Now i have 2 printheads with no ink in them while it tried to set them up. I can hear it trying to push air through and tested the purge system as well and got a pass test result. Anyone ever had this happen and what do you do? I took all the supplies out too and restarted the machine. So i have done all diagnostics.

This has been a nagging problem that has carried through to the new series as well. There has been several firmware updates addressing this. Make sure your firmware is current. We find pre-priming a print head in a different machine almost always works unless it has a bad print head PCA. This issue resurrected itself with the introduction of the HP 727 / 732 print head that supposedly works in both the T25x0 series as well as the T2600 series.

I have had the bad PCA before and it has been a terrible journey with these expensive print heads. I even go into the service mode and do a prime to the head but seems the printhead is back not the ink. I can get ink in a syringe from the tubes. I know you can get bad printheads. i just got 3 lol

I just got off the phone with one of my tech's and he fixed the print head issue by replacing the service station on a T1530. The HP tech told him when the printer is trying to prime the print heads it is not counting the ink that is going into the service station and therefor it can be full but not showing full on its usage percentage.

Also you do know you can return the defective print heads for a refund as long as they are not expired and have not run expired ink through them.

Does anyone know the incremental purge code for the service mode ? I can get into the service mode with 3174 but cannot do the "Incremental Purge" because of the code isn't in the service manual.

We had a 2500 do this when it needed its first printhead replacement... needless to say 5 printheads later and after escalating it with hp and replacing every conceivable part sometimes multiple times, HP told us they could not help us any further and we lost the customer due to it. later I discovered they ended up having to scrap the machine. Since then Ive heard this has become a common problem, sometimes easier to resolve than others.

This is still a problem. Over 40% INK left in the printer on all colors. It still doesn't fill the printhead. Just came across one today. Brand New printhead the 727/732 new type and the old 727 i didn't have any issues with. But these 727/732 i have had 6 that ih ave gone out and replaced come back and have to get a RMA on. Because the damn printer doesn't fill the ink bags for some damn reason. Rolling Eyes Mad So here i am again trying to get these purge to work and all the firmware updated before inserting the printhead and it is still not filling the printhead. Anyway. Even if i can get one to work. I have to go back and setup the new printhead wasting ink and making the customer wait while i get parts and RMA a printhead. ok Rant done. LOL Anyone else have this problem? I also had one where one side of the printhead would fill and the other would not. I heard crinkling like plastic crinkling while it was trying to setup the printhead. Would that be the "Bag" inside the printhead that the ink is filling inot?
