Last 2 KIP7170K installs, anytime the fuser is rotating, there is an intermittent creaking noise. When the fuser warms and during printing, you can hear the creaking happen at a consistent rate and when it slows to stop printing, the creaking slows as well. 2 in a row, I'm I the only one?

Are you able to determine if it's the exit transports or something internal? I have been unable to control any sounds from the exit transports without unplugging the printer Smile

Check the silver covers on the end of the fuser rollers that the heater rods go through. I’m seeing these are not pushed in all the way on some of the machine right off the crate. I think they maybe getting jarred loose a little during shipping.

You can try to remove 1 or 2 turn of pressure on the pressure roller and add some high temp oil in the pressure roller bearings. Those are problematic for that kind of noise.

That problem appear since the 7100

First one, on the 3rd time of full disassembly, the creaking went away. Didn't do anything different except inspected all the bearings and shafts, etc. Adjusting the pressure did not do anything. 2nd one, 3 days later, KIP Tech and my other tech went there and they heard nothing. It might've worked itself out.

Just received our 3rd 7170K, so lets hope it's not 3 for 3.

Yes, as previously mentioned by CHILLIN, the thin metal inserts for the Fuser often make a screeching noise. I have heard it a couple times and every time I have been able to trace it to this piece. If nothing else, you may need to just pull the Fuser out and inspect it, paying close attention to all those Washers and Tensioners on the sides.
