More competition, always good for consumers, and, might spur innovation for the rest in the industry.

new PageWide...laser, not ink??

Hmm I'm not buying it, even though there is a new product webinar this Friday.

https://www8.hp.com/us/en/commercial-printers/pagewide-printers/overview.html

There is now listed a 3900 XL MFP, and two new printer models (with optional scanners, the 4100 XL and 4600 XL.

This is just an expansion of the ink-based PageWide product lineup:

3900 specs up to 6ppm and 4 rolls - this would now be the entry level PageWide, with the 4100 and 4600 at 10ppm and 15 ppm replacing the 4000 and 4500, which were at 8ppm and 12ppm.

The other 3 existing PageWides remain the same:

5100 at 20 ppm
6000 at 24 ppm
8000 at 30 ppm

That is an impressive lineup from entry level to max production.

In addition, there is also a Designjet XL 3600 MFP, which appears to be a traditional 6-color inkjet (single HP 727 printhead) that is essentially in a PageWide body.

Print speed stated at 3 D/min

1 or 2 rolls, 36"

https://www8.hp.com/uk/en/large-format-printers/designjet-printers/xl-3600.html

300 ml inks (they are now calling them "supplies")

Pricing and availability: unknown!
