We have quite a few 800's in the field and so far I have 4 of them now that I have had to add more white space to the LE (like 3-4mm more) because when they run something with high toner coverage like an aerial it jams nearly every time. The flip side, when they run drawings like half sizes that has the image close to the boarder it loses the image.

Does anyone have a work around for this? Preferably how to resolve the jamming. If it helps I have tried playing with my fuser temperatures (20lb bond) up/down and it had no help. I will also add the stripper nails painstaking and tedious adjustment has been done correctly and yes, the solenoid is working as it should.

Are the media Buds set correctly and have you tried adjusting the fuser enterence guide plate? I'm assuming you're jamming in the fuser but is it happening earlier in the print process?

Your question about the BUDs is a bit vague. I added more lead edge/white space to 01226. Was at 70, move to like 110 to help with heavy coverage prints jamming at stripper nails.

First what level firmware and software are you running and I've had issues after firmware updates where the bud settings for paper get all f'd up. You can download the correct BUD setting from Kip's website and reload them. There is also a tech tip about the BUd's. Tech tip 14b.

Everything is updated to the latest, 2.1 and FW 09 nad yester the correct BUDs were uploaded along with the new FW.

This is been an ongoing issue since we've been installing these 800's, we have over 40 of them in the field. It only happens on particular clients that happen to run heavy coverage like aerial photos that have toner close to the lead Edge. There's just too much toner and it sticks to the hot roller causing the jam and the stripper nails. And we found the only solution is to add more white space to lead Edge.

Terry, You may want to try adjusting the Web in Print and the Web Print End adjustments. Having the web advance more and forward after each print job will keep the fuser roller better lubricated and prevent prints from sticking. We did this some back in the analog days on machines with fuser webs.
