I rebuilt a developer assembly for a KIP 9900. And now after that I have big toner blotches on the right hand side of print about 12inches in from the side edge (right side). All I did was remove the developer roller and chemically clean it, then reinstall.
I have done this before with no problems and can't figure out whats wrong.
Seems like a pressurization issue but its spring loaded on both ends????

I've seen this on other KIPs after cleaning the roller "chemically".. You have somehow contaminated the roller.
What are you using to clean it and what are you using to clean up the cleaner???
Also now that it's contaminated you may have to empty out the entire developer and clean all the rollers and apply fresh toner.

Iam still looking for an answer. I have chemically cleaned lots of these rollers with no problem, (using Fedron).
But now I have 2 dev. assemblies doing the same thing.
one of them I took apart for the 2nd time to inspect.....
What am I missing here?????

All I can tell you is that looks like one that was contaminated from the rubber cleaner.
Only fix for us was to empty out developer of all toner, re-clean roller with rubber cleaner then alcohol and let dry then put in fresh toner and verify regulation roller pressure is set on both sides.
We don't use Fedron. Don't know how it stacks up to others.

Hey Pete I am having the same issue on a 9900. I have now cleaned the dev unit 4 times thinking I missed something. Did you ever come up with a solution?

Pretty recently we ended up having to change the Cleaning Roller to resolve a problem on one of our 9900s.
Honestly we didn't think it would have solved the issue but in this case, it did.
Something to look at. Our old one looked okay but KIP said it didn't matter just change it. So we did.

I've only cleaned 8000 dev rolls as we don't have 9000s. I use inx, one day I ran low on inx and used Fedron. It didn't work as good and I had to redo it with inx. Streaks and weird patterns.
Not sure if Fedron works that great. Even though you have used Fedron before, try INX and see if it resolves the problem. |

What we have discovered is that on the right hand side near the spring that puts pressure from the regulation roller to the developer roller there is a white nylon bushing with a collar on it.....you have to file off part of the collar so that you can get more pressure on that side.
Sounds strange and I dont understand why, unless the spring looses its tension after awhile....but by doing this you achieve more downward pressure against the dev. roller and the problem goes away!
