The defective sensor "recall" on 7170's, does that also include 7100's? I don't see anything in the TB's that would confirm that.

It doesn't say but doesn't mean some can't go bad.

I have had a lot of sensors go bad, so many I keep them in my toolbag at all times.
In fact its the #1 cause for all my kip service calls during the drier months... During the summer failures are rare. I had none that I can recall all this summer but in the last 6 weeks Ive had 6 service calls come in that were the result of sensors that had failed and these are all "newer" sensors Ive already replaced and not the ones kip deemed defective... This includes 7770 7100 and 7170 machines although I had 4 machines all installed in a 6 month period where every sensor just about failed before kip would even acknowledge there was an issue depending on who I spoke to when I called. eventually they sent us a large bag of sensors to cover the ones in my bad machines but Ive got some machines where the sensors have ALL been replaced at least 3 times because of their advice to replace them all when one fails, when I realized that made no difference I stopped doing it. at this point I wonder whats different about my area.. maybe the great lakes effects the climate conditions more IDK?
