Happy New Year All....

I'm having trouble with Ghosting this unit. I replaced the HD with a 80 Gig WD and when it boots from the Ghost CD it all looks normal and gets to the Symantic Blue screen then it gives me this ?

Output Error to the following location
A:\GHOSTERR.TXT

if I press enter

! Cannot open GHOSTERR.TXT - insert diskette (434)

It's a Intel Mother Board

I have the Intel Ghost Disk PPR-HDP-INTEL-XP-6.5.258-01
KIP 2000,6000,7000,8000

Motherboards: Intel D845GVSR,Intel D101GGC, Intel D945GCPE
Windows XP Embedded - service Pack 2

Thanks
Bill

It looks like Ghost is encountering an error and is trying to write an error file to a floppy disk drive but there is no floppy disk loaded.

Is it seeing the HDD you installed correctly?

I used to get this error alot, but I can't remember what the exact fix was since it's been almost 10 years.

1. I do remember the 6000s, you could NOT use a USB cd/dvd rom, it had to be an "internal" cd-rw cd rom. I still have mine and looking at it, it was only a cd-rw recorder (not even a dvd, so I don't think the 6.5 were dvd).

2. You should unplug all USB when ghosting.

3. I had more than one Ghost cd to try.

I had completely forgotten about that requirement until you mentioned it. Hope he can find an IDE CD drive and if I remember, sometimes the data bus cable wouldn't connect without a fight. I heard that the city of Santa Monica was looking for more 6000's so they can extend the breakwater...
