Twas the night before the deadline. By the doc.

Twas the night before the deadline when all through the place,
Not a plotter was plotting, not even a trace.

The “DOWN” sign was hung on the KIP with care,
In hopes that the KIP tech soon would be there.

The designers were staring blank at their screen,
While visions of plots they hoped to see on the machine.

And the manager in a tizzy and I on the phone,
We all were hoping that the bid was not blown.

When out in the lobby we heard such a clanging,
The KIP tech was here with his tool bag hanging.

Away to the print room I ran like a train,
The problem with the KIP I had to explain.

The KIP tech listened intently and with a smirk,
In a second he was off and started his work.

When what to his experienced eyes should appear,
But a cloud of toner and a broken developer gear.

In a flash he vacuumed then looked through his parts,
I hoped very soon we could all print our charts.

He pulled from his bag the correct part to install,
I swear I heard a sigh of relief from us all.

And when he was complete we heard the printer hum,
We thought he was finished, we thought he was done.

But we heard him exclaim as he got into his truck,
Happy deadlines to all, that will be five hundred bucks!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all the great members here.
Steve
