We're seeing a slight smudge 9.5 inches from the trail edge of the print, exactly when the cutter cuts the trail edge. The cutter is clean and lubed and it has been swapped out with another unit. Short of changing out the cutter motor, which I think is the issue, is there another fix? Cutter speed adjustment?

If the paper is being pulled too fast by the fuser unit you will get cutter shock like you are seeing. Also if you have another 8000 try swapping the cutter driver board. I have never seen a cutter motor go bad, but like anything I guess it possible.

I am getting old, didn't even consider the fuser speed. I'll step right out into production and take a look. Thanx
