We are thinking of putting another 9900 in our production room and I have been asked to make sure there are no differences between the older serial numbered models and the newer ones. Does anyone know if there are any upgrades or differences to the toner cartridges or software?

Nothing major. Mostly firmware, software and a few field upgrades that you may or may not need.

We replaced a 9900 with a 9900 and found there wasn't much different except for the software.

Of course we fight the dusting issues and ended up modifying an 8000 developer dust cover to fit on the 9900 and this help dramatically with dusting inside the machine.

You will still fight the Density Sensors so nothing has changed from when the 9000 was released there.

I would prefer the 9900 over the 9000 though. Less issues.

If you wanted everything to be the same you could upgrade all the software and firmware on your existing 9900.

Good luck!
